Your next lesson.
A clear agreement.
One-off lessons
You can request a single two-hour lesson in Plympton or Northfield, normally AUD $60 per student. Any agreed custom per-class price shown in your account applies. There is one payment, no subscription, no automatic renewal and no minimum term.
Choose a date and time at least 48 hours ahead, within the next 14 days. Pay once to submit the request. Payment does not confirm the time: staff check availability, assign a tutor and confirm the venue and capacity. If we decline your request, cannot agree on a time, or you withdraw before approval, we refund the full one-off payment. Refunds may take time to process; your account shows their status.
After approval, you can request a replacement at least 48 hours before the booked lesson. Your original lesson stays booked until staff approve the change, and the existing payment transfers. Approved lessons are not refundable for a change of plans; late changes and non-attendance do not receive a refund, subject to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If Ascent cannot deliver the paid lesson, we offer an agreed replacement or refund.
Your weekly place
Standard pricing is AUD $60 per student per week for one two-hour class. Two two-hour classes cost AUD $120 per student per week. At standard pricing, this is equivalent to $30/hour. A maximum of three students attend per tutor, up to six with two tutors and a suitable room. Groups may include different subjects and year levels.
Students with an agreed custom rate see their per-class and weekly price in their account before payment. That price is saved when a new request is created and stays with that plan. Later changes to an account’s rate apply only to new requests; existing requests, subscriptions and paid lessons keep their agreed prices.
Joining and renewal
Request your regular class times at least 48 hours ahead. Staff confirm the ongoing venue, tutors and capacity before approval. New requests require payment of the first week at the price shown in your account (normally $60 for one class or $120 for two) before submission. Payment does not guarantee a time or confirm a lesson. No subscription or renewal starts while staff review the request. Once your schedule is approved, that payment covers the first week’s requested classes; your next charge is seven days after approval, then every seven days until you leave, except for staff-approved extended breaks. There is no minimum term. The amount and next charge are shown in My weekly plan. Only successfully paid weeks confirm classes.
Regular classes repeat in Adelaide time. You do not need to request them each week. Start times are between 4 pm and 7 pm; each class lasts two hours. Checkout has a 31-minute payment window. If staff decline, cannot agree on a schedule, or you withdraw before approval, the full first payment is refunded to its original payment method. Refunds may take several business days to appear at your bank. If a different time is offered, the declined request is refunded and you can submit a new request. Existing approved enrolments and active plans retain their original agreed payment schedule.
Individual lessons and rescheduling
Your weekly fee reserves your place. You cannot cancel an individual class or skip a week to reduce the fee. Late cancellations and no-shows use the lesson. Request a replacement at least 48 hours before the original start, for an available time within 14 days. Staff must approve it; until then your original class remains booked. Rescheduling does not change your regular time or weekly billing. Contact staff if there is no suitable replacement so an alternative arrangement can be agreed.
Leaving the weekly plan
There is no minimum commitment and no exit fee. Use “Leave weekly plan” in your student space before the next charge to stop future renewal. The paid period stays available, and your already-paid lessons remain booked. Leaving does not retrospectively reverse a charge already due or collected. Your confirmation shows when renewal stops.
Holidays and extended breaks
School holidays do not automatically pause your plan. Tell Surya or Jadson in advance if you need an extended break. Staff can agree to pause future weekly charges and classes, and record the return date in your student space. A staff-approved pause begins with the next unpaid weekly period; already-paid lessons stay booked unless a replacement or refund is separately agreed. Charges resume on the first normal weekly billing date on or after the agreed return date. Ordinary missed classes do not create a pause.
If Ascent cannot deliver
If Ascent cancels a paid class, we will offer an agreed replacement or refund for that class. Contact staff about emergencies or exceptional circumstances. These terms do not exclude your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Request a refund using the contact details below and include your booking date. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe; your bank controls when the credit appears. A successful full refund cancels the lessons covered by that payment. For partial refunds, staff identify the affected lesson or lessons. A refund does not itself stop weekly renewal; use “Leave weekly plan” to stop future charges. Pending or failed refunds are reviewed by staff.
Ascent Library
Ascent Library is free with a verified Ascent account. You can browse every subject, year level and topic, and open resources as they are added. No tutoring enrolment or Library subscription is required. Topic pages currently contain placeholders; notes, worksheets and worked examples are still being prepared. Tutoring lessons remain a separate paid service.
New paid Library subscriptions are closed. If you already have an earlier AUD $10 every two weeks subscription, changing Library access does not by itself stop its renewal. Use “Stop renewal” on your Library page to stop future charges without losing free Library access, or contact us for help. Cancellation does not automatically refund earlier payments. We will communicate any proposed Ascent Pass changes before moving existing subscriptions; no new paid benefit is promised here.
If you join tutoring, the existing process stops a separate Library renewal after your tutoring payment is confirmed. It does not automatically refund overlapping payments or restart the Library subscription when tutoring ends. These terms do not exclude your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Library advertising
Google advertising is being prepared but is not currently enabled in the Library. We will update our privacy information and provide the necessary privacy choices before advertising starts.
Contact Ascent
For class arrangements, refunds, account help or privacy requests, email Surya or Jadson. These are our current customer support inboxes.
Include your account email and relevant class date. Do not email card numbers, passwords or identity documents. Please check your student space for approval and payment updates; lesson reminder emails are not currently sent.
Your information
Your account, year level, subjects, learning notes, weekly times, payment status and agreement records are used to arrange your tutoring. Learning records are available to your account, Ascent administrators and the tutors assigned to your current classes, with service providers processing data needed to run the website. Stripe handles payment details; Ascent does not store card numbers.
Accounts use Supabase for Google or email sign-in. With Google sign-in we receive your account identifier, email and profile name; with email sign-in Supabase manages your credentials. Ascent’s hosting provider stores learning and booking records, Stripe processes payments, and Resend delivers authentication emails and notifies Surya and Jadson when you submit a lesson or weekly-plan request. These notifications contain your name and a link to the private admin area; your detailed learning notes stay inside Ascent. These providers may process information outside Australia. We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not sell your learning information. Please avoid including sensitive health or identity information in lesson notes.
Website analytics
We measure visits to our public homepage, policies and sign-in page to understand traffic and demand. A random identifier stored in your browser tab groups page views into approximate visits and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. We collect the page category, a broad referral category and screen-size category. We do not record your IP address, full referring URL, browsing history, private Library topics or account identifier in these analytics. We honour Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Raw traffic events are automatically deleted after 90 days when new events arrive. Administrators can view aggregate traffic and operational reports; future tutors cannot access these reports.
Keeping and deleting information
We retain account and learning information while you use Ascent. Staff review inactive records each school term and aim to delete or de-identify learning notes and preferences once they have been unused for 12 months, unless you ask us to retain them for a planned return or they are needed to resolve a dispute. This is a staff-managed process.
We keep payment, refund, booking and agreement records needed for tax and business records for at least five years from the relevant transaction or completion of the record, and longer where a legal requirement or unresolved dispute applies. Information retained for those purposes is restricted to that use. Provider backups and security logs follow the providers’ retention cycles rather than disappearing immediately when an active record is removed.
Access, corrections and privacy concerns
Email either contact above to request a copy or correction of your information, close your account, request deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We may ask you to verify control of the account before acting, and will explain any records we need to keep. We aim to respond within 30 days. Account deletion does not itself cancel a subscription: leave your weekly plan and stop any separate Library renewal first, or ask us to help stop billing before closing the account. A parent or guardian may contact us about a student; we verify their authority before disclosing account information.
Meeting locations
Request classes in Plympton or Northfield. Choose a location for each one-off lesson or weekly class. Staff confirm tutor availability, room permission and capacity before approval. Exact addresses and any additional meeting instructions are shown privately at checkout, with final meeting instructions confirmed on approval, and remain in your confirmed lesson details. Your selected location is a request, not a guaranteed booking. A venue’s use does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by its owner.
